Nielsen McAllister has underlined its ambitions to build its business in new markets and locations with the appointment of Tom Erskine to the newly-created role of Business Account Manager.

Tom joins the agency from Smith Partnership Solicitors where he was Business Development Executive; prior to that he worked as Inward Investment Executive at Marketing Derby. Both roles have given him an extensive background in planning, regeneration and communications and ensured he has his finger on the pulse of regional market trends.

This experience will be invaluable as Nielsen McAllister seeks to develop opportunities in new market sectors and increase its presence in the East Midlands. In addition, Tom will be working with the agency’s content creation teams on current client media relations, event management and social media programmes.

Bob Bushby, managing director of Nielsen McAllister, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Tom to the team. Even in these challenging times, we have ambitious plans to expand the business and Tom, with his experience and connections across the region, will play a key role in this, alongside providing additional support and expertise to existing clients.”

Based in Green Lane, Nielsen McAllister celebrated its 30th birthday this year. The company is recognised as one of the UK’s leading business-to-business (B2B) communications companies in the packaging & print sectors, with additional specialisms in construction, industrial and pharmaceutical sectors.

Tom commented: “I am delighted to have joined the team at Nielsen McAllister. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to build on my existing skills, whilst adding a few new strings to my bow!”

Away from the office, Tom is a founder of Bustler Market, Derby’s award-winning street food hub that brings the best of cities such as Manchester, London and Birmingham to Derby.
