Nielsen McAllister has launched a new website and refreshed its branding as part of its 30th birthday celebrations. The agency was founded by current managing director Bob Bushby in 1990 – at a time when Margaret Thatcher was still Prime Minister and a Mars Bar cost just 27 pence.

While traditional celebrations have been shelved due to Covid-19, the firm’s new website, developed by Derby digital agency Frogspark, has now been completed as planned. The milestone anniversary also presented the perfect opportunity for the company to modernise its branding and logo.

And, although Nielsen McAllister’s seven-strong team has been unable to meet in person since the enforced lockdown in March, staff have nevertheless enjoyed a virtual birthday party together online – all bringing a cake they had baked themselves.

The virtual bake-off began as a competition, but to reflect the group effort and heightened spirit of unity brought about by the current pandemic, Bob declared everyone a winner.

“We had some big plans for our birthday year,” said Bob. “And, when the lockdown was announced, we almost took the decision to postpone our celebrations until next year. After all, 30 years is quite a milestone to reach in our industry and we were keen to shout about it.

“But, with the new website and branding already in development, we decided to celebrate regardless, even though everyone was in separate locations. I was blown away by the effort made by everybody in our virtual bake-off. The results were amazing and it proved very popular – not least because nobody had to share their final creations!”

Bob said he was extremely proud of the company he started building 30 years ago, and the fact that the first two clients he signed back in 1990 were still clients today illustrated just how highly Nielsen McAllister was regarded. He added: “The new website looks fantastic, and I’m very grateful to Frogspark for doing such a wonderful job.”

Rob Twells, managing director of Frogspark, based at Darley Abbey Mills, Derby, said: “I’m extremely proud of how Nielsen McAllister’s website has turned out. All credit has to go Ellamae, Scott and Oakley here at Frogspark for their hard work. Our goal was to craft a stylish, modern website that also reflected the professionalism and years of experience in the Nielsen McAllister team. I believe that, collaboratively, we have achieved just that.”

Nielsen McAllister provides business-to-business public relations and communications services, including copywriting and social media management. Since its launch, the company has become one of Europe’s most highly renowned PR agencies in the packaging and print industries, as well as specialising in property and construction, and professional services sectors.
