Focusing on commercial agility and resilience, Derby PR and communications agency Nielsen McAllister is continuing to expand both its capacity and its sector reach, with the announcement of three new appointments. Wendy Roberts joins the agency as a Senior Consultant, Richard Pettinger takes on an Account Management position, and Jack Readman returns to his role as Account Executive.

A former journalist and features writer with 30 years’ experience, Wendy spent over 20 years at The Derby Telegraph. She also had articles published in a number of national and international titles, including The Sun, The Daily Mail and The New York Times, before moving into the public relations sector in 2017. Wendy brings her extensive writing skills and nose for a good story to further strengthen Nielsen McAllister’s content creation offering to existing and new clients.

Wendy said: “I am delighted to join the Nielsen McAllister team. I see this as a wonderful opportunity to support a thriving and ambitious Derby business.”

Richard is a time-served marketing, print and PR professional, with extensive contacts in both the world of commercial print and the wider marketing and creative industries. He is keen to be a part of Nielsen McAllister’s plans to forge new relationships with a wider audience and feels fortunate to be amongst such talented company; “After many years of ‘flying solo’, becoming part of a team with such a broad array of skills and experience, feels very much like coming home.” he said.

Jack Readman has re-joined the agency after spending nearly a year teaching children English in Yinchuan, China. His time was cut short however by the Covid-19 pandemic and he returned to the UK, initially assisting his local Rotary Club with the launch of its new website before having the opportunity to work at Nielsen McAllister once again.

“My time abroad was certainly eventful!” Jack recalled. “It was nevertheless a really positive experience, but I am equally pleased to be back with the team here and excited to see what the future holds for me in Derby.”

Bob Bushby, Nielsen McAllister’s managing director, said: “Following a year like no other, I am especially pleased that the agency has still managed to grow its business and win new clients. Wendy, Richard and Jack will all make important contributions to supporting our existing portfolio and also help us to build further in the future.”

Based in Green Lane, Nielsen McAllister celebrated its 30th birthday in 2020. The company is recognised as one of the UK’s leading business-to-business (B2B) communications companies in the packaging & print sectors, with additional specialisms in construction, industrial and pharmaceutical sectors.
